A Good Start to 2016 – Our Largest Single Delivery
We made our largest single delivery of seven 130kW Angus Super wood gasification log boilers in January 2016. The majority of these boilers are being used where two 130kW log boilers are being installed per one installation, therefore creating 260kW. This type of installation qualifies for the non-domestic RHI under the medium biomass tariff (200kW and greater), which is currently 5.18p per kW for Quarter 1, 2016
.

DRHI Has Gone Live

The UK Government scheme, Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), set up to encourage uptake of renewable heat technologies among householders, communities and businesses through the provision of financial incentives has just launched phase two.

Phase two, the domestic element, of the RHI (DRHI) went live on 9th April 2014,
In anticipation of the expected increase in demand, Eco Angus is increasing the stock levels across the whole range in both warehouses.

Eco Angus Ltd wood gasification log boilers have gained exemption under the Clean Air Act 1993

As of January 2013 the Angus Orligno 500 wood pellet boiler is exempt from smoke control areas.
As of January 2012 the Angus Super and Angus Orligno 200 range of wood gasification log boilers are exempt from smoke control areas.

The ranges have passed tests to confirm that they are capable of burning an unauthorised or inherently smoky solid fuel without emitting smoke. The “Clean Air Act 1993” which provides the current rules governing the emissions of smoke. The Act allows a local authority to declare districts to be a smoke control area with the power to impose fines of £1,000 on domestic properties emitting smoke. Burning fuels not authorized as being “smokeless” in an appliance that was not permitted to burn unauthorized fuels is not allowed. Appliances with a proven capability for burning unauthorized fuels without producing smoke are classified as being an “exempt appliance”.

The exemption for the log boilers is based on installations with accumulator tanks with a 50:1 ration of thermal store to kW output.
The exemption for the pellet boiler is based on installations with accumulator tanks with a 20:1 ration of thermal store to kW output.

Any customer in a smoke exempt zone is encouraged to batch burn where possible throughout the year rather than allow the boiler to slumber as this will reduce any smoke emissions.

Eco Angus Ltd wood gasification log boilers and wood pellet boilers meet new air quality requirements

New air quality requirements were announced by the government on 27th February 2013 as part of changes to the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme (RHI).
The new RHI requirements will set emission limits from new installations at 30 grams per gigajoule for particulate matter PM10 and 150 grams per gigajoule for nitrogen oxides with evidence that these limits are being met to be sent to regulatory body Ofgem. These requirements are then set to be reviewed again by the government in July 2015.
The NOx + PM emissions for our range of boilers are well within the new limits and the readings can be found as follows. (pdf file)

Eco Angus Ltd wood gasification log boilers and wood pellet boilers are SEDBUK rated

Eco Angus Ltd is one of the first companies in the biomass industry to have all eligible boilers entered onto the SEDBUK database (seasonal efficiency of domestic boilers in the UK) as a high efficiency boiler. The advantage of listing our boilers on this database will be that this will enable you to obtain an improved EPC rating (energy performance criteria) if you come to sell your home at any stage.

Eco Angus Ltd
were awarded full MCS certification.
Eco Angus Ltd were awarded full MCS certification for their complete range of wood gasification log boilers in July 2010. This will cover the 18kW/25kW/40kW/60kW/80kW/96kW/130kW for the Angus Super and the 18kW/25kW/40kW/60kW/80kW for the Angus Orligno 200. In total we will have 2 ranges with 5 outputs in each range with the full MCS certification. Eco Angus Ltd were also awarded full MCS certification for the Angus Orligno 500 pellet boiler in February 2011.

Eco Angus Ltd move to new warehouse

From the 1st September Eco Angus Ltd have moved to much larger warehouse facilities. The Director Guy Winterbourne said "since the RHI draft proposal in 2010 we have worked hard as a business to build our geographical structure of MCS accredited installers. Enquiries and orders have been increasing over the last 2 years and with the final announcement on the RHI for domestic installations due imminently we felt it prudent to have warehouse facilities that would allow for an even greater depth of stock. We now regularly hold between 50 and 75 boilers in stock at any one stage to ensure a prompt turnaround on orders received."

Eco Angus Ltd extend range on capacity of wood gasification boilers

As of Summer 2011 the Angus Super range has been extended from 18kW/25kW/40kW/60kW/80kW to 18kW/25kW/40kW/60kW/96kW and 130kW.
The extension in capacity on this range of Angus Super wood gasification log boilers has enabled us to offer a log boiler that can now heat up to 1200m2 of a well insulated property and the 100/130kW are some of the largest boilers in this range available on the market.
